Nail Technologist (NtHS) 

Nail Technologist (NtHS) is a practicing Professional who applies artificial nails and provides nail and nail care therapy on the hands and feet. NtHS often specialize in one or more types of nail enhancements such as Gel, Silk, Fibre, Acrylic and Nail art, depending on product specific training.

Beauty Technologist (BtHS)

Beauty Technologist (BtHS) is a practicing Professional who applies basic skincare, hand and foot treatments with nail treatments, hair removal and make-up applications and a basic back and neck massage and back treatment.

Beauty Therapist (BHS)

Beauty Therapist (BHS) is a practicing professional who applies complete skincare and body treatments including massage.  This requires two years of training.

Somatologist (SomHS)

A Somatologist (SomHS) is a practicing professional who studies the science of the human body including physics, chemistry, biology, botany and general heading of physicalism as a branch of Anthropology. This requires 3 years of training.

PCASA

The Permanent Cosmetic Association of South Africa (PCASA) is a chapter of The Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals (SPCP). PCASA is a nonprofit membership society for professionals within the permanent cosmetic industry aimed at the perfect execution of treatments on the part of its members, the advancement of skill and professional development by making training programmes of the highest standard available to its members on a continual basis, and public protection against poor conduct on the part of member industry professionals.

HPCSA

The HPCSA, together with the 12 Professional Boards under its ambit, is established to provide for control over the education, training and registration for practicing of health professions registered under the Health Professions Act.

SAQA

South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is the oversight body of the NQF and the custodian of its values and quality character.

SAAHSP

SAAHSP is a Non Profit Organization serving its members and the Skin, Body, and Nail Care Industry as the Professional Body in South Africa. SAAHSP is legally constituted to protect the Public Interest in relation to services provided. The Organization will develop, award, monitor and revoke Professional Designations and regulate Continual Professional Development (CPD);
